About Us

Holy Cross Primary Catholic Voluntary Academy is a vibrant, caring school community whose mission and motto ‘Loved, Valued, Challenged’ is reflected in every aspect of school life.  Our Parents Friends Group volunteers are extremely proactive and successful, working very hard to raise funds not only for school projects but local and national charities.

Our Parents Friends Group organise most of the fundraising activities in school and play a vital role. Holy Cross Parents Friends Group Constitution was adopted on Friday 13th September 2019.

Meetings are held regularly during school time, details on dates/times will be displayed on our calendar.  Please come along if you are able as your input is important to us.  If you would like to join the group then please contact school or attend one of these meetings.  If you have any fundraising ideas/suggestions but unable to attend then please email school and we will pass the information on.

We received £8,000 funding from Tesco Bags of Help to build an outdoor classroom outside Year 1 to enable children to play/learn under the shelter in all weathers.

We received £10,000 from the National Lottery Awards for All for our Holy Cross Health Drive project.  The funding was used to purchase outdoor gym equipment. Our Parents Friends Group then went on to gain additional an £16,000 funding for a new trim trail.

We gained successful funding applications from All Churches Trust and numerous other charitable trusts to raise £12,000 for a wooden pod.  This is used by our children as our Chapel and Forest Schools sessions.

We raised £13,000 from successful funding applications.  We gained funding from the Arnold Clark Community Fund, Wesleyan, Persimmon Homes, Mansfield Building Society and Tesco Community Fund.  This funding was used to purchase a wooden pod to create a quiet space for our Emotional Literacy Support Assistants can deliver mental health and awareness sessions, named The Rainbow Retreat.

We gained £10,000 from the National Lottery to install multi sports nets for our playground.

We gained £500 from the Ernest Cook Trust to create a fire pit for our Forest Schools.
