Remembrance Day

All children in school learnt about the importance of Remembrance Day during a whole school assembly. The children also spent the day involving themselves in different activities in different classes. Ask your child which teacher they visited.
Mrs Bradley - we discussed how we could ensure peace in our school and in our world. The children made posters to help us all remember.
Mrs Turner - children used a variety of artistic media to create a drawing of a poppy field.
Miss Duong - children created their individual prayer about what the day meant to them
Mrs O'Hare - children listened to the poem 'Flanders Fields' and created their own
Mrs Butkevicius - the children acted out a play to create the understanding of life in WWII London.
Miss Hornsby - children wrote their own prayers
Mrs Sansom - children worked in groups to re-create a poppy picture using different media

The Dispatch made a visit to school and were very impressed with the level of respect and interest shown by our children. A big thank you goes out to all those who discussed Remembrance Day with their child, as many came in with their own stories and experiences from themselves and members of their families. It was also very inspiring to be able to show the children photographs and medals that were sent in on the day.
