Immediate home learning in the event of a closure

In the even of a closure please ensure your child

  • Reads their paper book daily.
  • Visits Rising Stars to read an online book.
  • Acesses Numbots
  • Acesses Spelling Shed
  • Plays with educational toys at home e.g. jigsaws, small world, construction, free choice mark making/ drawing/ colouring.

In an Early Years setting the children access a balance between child initiated play and techer led group sessions.  The children will work with an adult for around 15 mins and they go back to their play activity. Adults will also work alongside children extending their play activities by asking questions.

Children in EYFS should not be sat at a desk for long periods.  In the even of another lockdown I would encourage short bursts of focus and longer periods of meaningful play.

Inside your child's yellow reading diary is their email address and password so that they can join via Teams.  I will contact you through Dojo to let you know if there will be Teams session and what time these will happen.

If for any reason your child doesn't have the login deatails for teams, I can send these to you as a personal text message.

Many thanks

Mrs Bruce
