Two of the caterpillars have now left their cosy cocoons and have turned into beautiful butterflies. In class we have talked about which foods butterflies need when they emerge from their cocoons. Sugared water, pears and flowers are best.
The children decided that we should let the butterflies leave near the beautiful garden near Mrs Snowdon's window. One flew off, whilst the other settled on a lovely purple coloured flower. Watch this space for more news!
On Wednesday last week, 5th June 2013, we let the other three butterflies go. When Mrs knight took them out of their net, we put them in the flower beds outside Mrs Snowdon's office but they did not fly away straight away, they enjoyed sitting on the flowers. Emily and Dara enjoyed holding the butterflies on a twig. See the last photos here.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
