Class 6

Welcome to Class 6

Miss Hornsby

I really can’t believe that it is the summer term already!
This term we are going to travel through the most exotic places in India. We are going to explore the colourful arts and dance, the delicious mouth-tingling food and the rules that you have to think about while eating. We are going to be learning about how life in India towns and cities to that of village life and learning about traditional tales from India.

This week's statement to live by is:
I try to forgive people when they hurt me.

Can I please remind all of you that reading at home is very important! It doesn't matter what you read: a fantastic fiction novel, a daring adventure story, a fearsome factual non fiction book, a newspaper article, a web page, instructions - reading is all around us; you simply can't escape it! Challenge your parents to ask you questions about what you have read. Once you have answered the tricky questions, ask your parents, or another adult,  to quickly note it in your reading diary. Weekly challenges will be fine!

Spellings - I am very proud of you all for writing such lovely, detailed sentences for your spellings homework. Your sentence construction has come on so much! Have a look back at your first sentence you wrote for me - do you think you have improved? I am very proud of you all - well done!

Your spellings now will take different forms; you still have to learn them all for our weekly tests on Fridays though!

We will have PE on Wednesdays (Cricket) and Thursdays (Mr Woolly) this term. Please make sure you have trainers and outdoor PE kits in school on these days.
Congratulations to our appointed School Councillors Isabelle and Leonardo, and to our class Eco Warriors Paris and Randall.
