Class 5

Welcome to Class 5's page!

We have so many exciting things planned for the Pentecost term and are looking forward to building on our learning from the Lent term.

Our History topic for the first half term will be one that focuses on the Ancient Islamic Civilisation, before moving on to a Geography topic in the second half term where we will explore Mountains of the World.

Our main PE this half term will be football, which will take place on alternate Thursday afternoons in Week 2 of our timetable, so please come to school ready in your PE kit. We are also very lucky to be having Forest School activities on Thursday afternoons in Week 1 of our timetable with Mrs Hudson, so please come to school on those Thursdays in clothing suitable for this.

The children will resume their paper-based TTRS tests each week, where I will set the tables to be learned each week as homework. Hopefully, they children have been making good use of the online game to help them increase their rock speed for recall of their times tables and division facts!

Spelling tests will be on Fridays this term and will once again be set as a 'pyramid' of spellings to learn each half term, which they will also be able to practise on the Spelling Shed website.

Reading diaries will be checked each Monday for 3 signatures from an adult/older sibling to confirm that they have either been heard reading or had their comprehension of what they have read checked. Please feel free to use a combination of school and home reading books as well as any other reading materials you may have access to at home.

As always, many thanks for your support this year.

Mrs Oates, Mrs Alderson, Miss Rainbow and Miss Shelton.
