Science: Exploding Volcanoes - Wednesday 10th February 2010

Today we finally finished our volcanoes. We have been making them in our Science topic as we are learning about ‘Rocks and Soils’ and that ‘Granite’ comes from volcanic rock. We are also interested in volcanoes as our topic this term is ‘Mexico’ and we have learnt that Mexico has a lot of volcanoes.

We finally let them erupt today. We used warm water, washing up liquid, red food colouring, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. We had a lot of fun watching them explode. They were very realistic!
